Well, okay, there might some of that. The two-day summit focuses on evolving trends in digital platforms in other words, the future of all media and how these trends are transforming news, commerce and entertainment. Think MySpace and Twitter, but also think Big Traditional Media thriving online. Attendees will be hip cohort from publishing, broadcasting, advertising, video, and music, plus related media omnivores.
And yes, the conference will be held at Skylight Studios, an event space in hipper-than-thou Soho that, admittedly, is popular with the arts and fashion crowd.
So, given all that, certainly therell be some fairly groovy chatting going on. Probably some people who wear white after Labor Day. People who use the word space in a sentence, as in yes, they dominate the online cat food space.
But and heres the point the conference is set up to offer practical, tangible guidance. It wont all be froth. The event is geared to help working professionals leverage the rapid changes in digital media with (as much as this is possible) real world techniques.
Its about getting some real tools so you can go back to the office and say, Lets get started on this project and heres how we can do it, says Kirsten Cluthe, the events producer.
To make the event more focused, its been organized with a single track the two-day schedule has one event at a time, with a logical progression. The program schedule covers the chaotic new media universe in something resembling an orderly way.
