cnet: During his keynote address at the Mobile World Congress, Research in Motion (RIM) co-CEO Mike Lazaridis announced that the company will offer a free version of its BlackBerry Express Server Software. The software allows BlackBerry users to sync their devices with their companies' Microsoft Exchange or Windows Small Business servers.
The free version of the software will include most features of the paid version, including e-mail, calendar, contacts, notes, access to Microsoft Office files, and some security features. However, companies that require advanced security features, monitoring capabilities, or high availability will still need to purchase a license for BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.
