eWeek: According to the latest figures from researchers at iSupply, Acer showed the strongest growth in 2009, though it was edged out of the number two slot on the list of computer makers by Dell. Acer shipped 38.5 million units, up from 31.8 million units in 2008. Dell, on the other hand, declined from 43.3 million units in 2008 to 38.96 million units in 2009, the only top five PC maker to show a year-over-year decline.

HP continued to enjoy the top spot on the list, growing 7.4 percent over the previous year.
