InformationWeek: Although Palm's shipments of smartphones increased in its most recently ended quarter, actual sales plummeted 29 percent to 408,000 units. By contrast, Apple sold 8.7 million iPhone's in its last quarter.
Despite the disappointing numbers, the company's executives remain upbeat. "Our recent underperformance has been very disappointing, but the potential for Palm remains strong," said chairman and chief executive Jon Rubenstein.
