Microsoft Opens Cloud Computing Center in Taiwan

Redmond will also partner with two Taiwanese laptop makers to build cloud computing servers.

CIO.com: During the CompuTex Taiwan show, Microsoft officially opened the "Software and Services Excellence Center," a cloud computing center that is a joint venture between Redmond and Taiwan's economics ministry.

At the same time, Microsoft announced a joint venture with Taiwanese laptop makers Quanta Computer and Compal Electronics. Together, the three companies hope to develop the next generation of cloud computing servers, servers that would fit inside standard shipping containers.
