PCWorld: Rackspace and NASA have announced that they are working together on OpenStack, an open source cloud computing platform. The project's goal is to increase the adoption of cloud computing by making it easier to develop applications.

Rackspace's Fabio Torlini explains that the two organizations have big expectations for OpenStack. "We expect our cloud platforms to become a de facto standard in time," he said. "We really expect this to take off massively."
