Associated Press: India already offers the world's cheapest car, water purifier, and open heart surgery; now it's adding the world's cheapest computer--a $35 Linux tablet. "This is our answer to MIT's $100 computer," said human resource development minister Kapil Sibal.

While they haven't finalized any manufacturing plans, the Indian government hopes to move the prototype into production by 2011.
