CIOs Harbor High Expectations for Cloud Computing

CIO Insight: A research report commissioned by Savvis reveals that CIOs are extremely interested in cloud computing, but cloud vendors must still address security concerns and overcome some lingering doubts. Key findings include the following:

• CIOs expect to save an average of 18 percent of their IT budgets thanks to cloud computing.
• 82 percent of U.S. enterprises currently manage their IT infrastructure in-house, but less than 50 percent expect to still be managing infrastructure in-house in 2020.
• 54 percent of enterprises either currently use cloud computing or plan to do so within the next 12 months.
• 75 percent of enterprises plan to use cloud computing at some point.
