11. iTunes

If you have an iPod or an iPhone, you'll need iTunes to organize and sync your files. The download also gives you access to Apple's huge library of songs and videos. Price: Free.

12. WinAmp

This MP3 player makes it easy to manage your audio library and create playlists. The attractive interface comes with more than 50 themes, and it also includes a visualization feature. Price: Free (Pro version costs $19.95).

13. Yahoo! Music Jukebox

Formerly known as MusicMatch Jukebox, the Yahoo! Music Jukebox plays, rips, and burns MP3s and CDs, as well as providing access to LAUNCHcast radio and a catalog of 2 million songs for sale. The Plus version offers faster performance, better sound quality, and CD printing. Price: Free (Plus version costs $19.95).

14. Rhapsody

The Rhapsody player rips MP3s, burns CDs, and manages your music library. The free service lets you listen to 25 songs per month; for more, you'll need a subscription. Price: Free (Monthly subscription available).

15. AudioXTract

This software lets you play and record Internet radio, so you can build up your MP3 library without paying for each song. It's not peer-to-peer; in fact, it's a lot like using a VCR to record television. And it's legal (for now). Price: $29.99.

Browsers

16. Internet Explorer

The latest incarnation of Microsoft's Internet browser now offers tabbed browsing and enhanced security. Plus, it's easier to subscribe to RSS feeds, and you can search right from the toolbar. Price: Free.

17. Mozilla Firefox

Tabbed browsing, search suggestions, and a host of other features make this open source browser a perennial award-winner. It's also really easy to customize with thousands of add-ons. There's even a version specifically for heavy eBay users. Price: Free.

18. Netscape Navigator

It doesn't get as much press anymore, but Navigator is still around. The latest version lets you see what your friends are up to with the "Friends' Activity Bar," automatically corrects common URL typos, and more. Price: Free.

19. Opera

First developed in Norway, Opera calls itself "The coolest, fastest, and most secure Web browser available." Notable features include a built-in BitTorrent client, content blocker, password manager, and others. Price: Free.
