comScore: Researchers at comScore have released their latest report on the U.S. mobile market. Among the findings:
- "A total of 234 million people age 13 and older in the U.S. used mobile devices in December 2009."
- "Motorola was the top ranked OEM with 23.5 percent of U.S. mobile devices," followed by LG (21.9 percent), Samsung (21.2 percent), Nokia (9.2 percent) and RIM (7.0 percent).
- RIM/Blackberry remains the most popular operating system, but Apple and Google users showed strong increases.
- Nearly two-thirds of users sent text messages on their devices.
